The Iota Phi chapter of Beta Alpha Psi is raising donations to further support our rapidly growing member base. Our growth in membership increased by over 50 percent just last year, and we have a new wave of applicants seeking out advice and experience in the worlds of finance and accounting. We aim to raise these funds to facilitate better meetings and offer more volunteer experiences that not only help our community but provide our members with valuable experience as well. One such experience is VITA through United Way of West Florida, where we provide the manpower to assist our community with their tax forms. We at UWF’s chapter of BAP have prided ourselves on being able to keep dues to a minimum while also offering scholarships to those that cannot afford to join. On average, we will spend more on a student than they will ever pay us, which is exactly how we would like to keep it. We are not a business. We are here to facilitate the needs of our members and supply local firms with well-rounded individuals who will continue to grow their respective fields. We are also looking to expand our reach. Starting in the Spring of 2026, we will be looking to visit local high schools and promote not only BAP, but the fields of accounting and finance. We also plan to facilitate activities which aim to show students the importance of financial literacy before they take their final steps into adulthood.
