The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) student section at the University of West Florida (UWF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related fields. SWE helps to prepare members for a successful engineering path through networking opportunities, as well as provides means to achieve personal and professional goals. Many members have secured internships through connections made from SWE, enabling them to learn from other female engineers. The success of our club is made possible through donors like you. This year, SWE is actively planning to conduct many events. e aim to plan several industrial tours, which costs around $500. Additionally, each year, we like to send a few students to the SWE National Conference. The overall cost of this event varies, but is typically around $5,000 annually. In addition to these events, SWE likes to give back to local, young STEM organizations including girl scouts. The planning and execution of these events is typically around $500 annually. Given this information, your donation will provide our students the means to expand their engineering knowledge, to meet and form bonds with other females in the male-dominated fields, to become confident in all aspects of their career, and to reaffirm their dreams of succeeding as a woman in STEM–not only through career accomplishments, but through instilling in them a passion for gender equality, and a fierce zest for the removal of gender barriers in engineering. Your help would immensely contribute to this cause.
