The 2016 team had the opportunity to visit the Dominican Republic in 2016. Read some of the responses below of those on the 2016 team and how that trip impacted their lives:
"In 2016, I was granted the opportunity to go on a once-in-a-lifetime international trip with the Women’s basketball team to the Dominican Republic. It was the first time that I was able to travel out of the country and was one of the most memorable and impactful experiences of collegiate basketball career. It is a trip I look back on a decade later and still acknowledge how life-changing it truly was. These international trips are instrumental for the experience, growth, and exposure of these young student athletes and for a lot of them, may be their only chance to travel internationally in their whole lives. Investing in these trips is not just investing in a basketball team---but investing in diversity, culture, growth, and lifetime experiences."

"It’s hard to put into words all that our trip to the Dominican Republic in 2016 truly meant. During our eight day trip we got to experience things you only see on TV. My favorite day was the day we visited an all girls orphanage. It truly changes your perspective on life. We were also able to play basketball against their incredible Dominican teams, using the Dominican rules of course. We were able to help more people in need, & even enjoy some time bonding as a team in a beautiful country. It was a trip I will never forget & I will cherish the memories forever. I believe the Dominican trip set us up for our successful 2016/2017 season."
