Need-based scholarships can provide educational opportunities which were previously out of reach, ensuring all students have access to higher education. A full ride, merit-based scholarship could be the deciding factor for a student to choose UWF over other high-ranking institutions. Scholarships at the university include:
General Scholarship Support- Flexible scholarship dollars that can be awarded to all eligible UWF students.
Greatest Needs (Unrestricted)- Provide critical flexible dollars to support the university's most important initiatives. This fund provides unrestricted support in areas university leadership identify as most pressing.
Johnson Scholarship- A competitively awarded scholarship which is available to undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities who attend the University of West Florida
First Generation Scholarship- Financial assistance provided to students who are the first in their family to pursue higher education.
Cylea Lyrio Scholarship- A fund established to benefit Latin American students at the University of West Florida.
Drs. Ray Bennett & Linda O. Dye Transformational Experiences Scholarship- Covers expenses related to transformational learning experiences for students like study abroad, student competitions, undergraduate research, and professional conferences.
International Affairs- Provides transformational opportunities for international students and study abroad experiences.
William Healey Scholarship Endowment- established to assist students who demonstrate commitment to Recreation and Wellness programs.
Maygarden Family Scholarship Endowment- Scholarship support for undergraduate students in communications.
